Arturo Ramirez

May 25, 1928 - October 25, 2014

Arturo Ramirez, Sr., age 86 of Del Rio, Texas, departed this world and entered into the kingdom of Heaven to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Langtry, Texas to Nicholas and Estanislada Ramirez. He married his love, Maria Ester Ramirez on April 20, 1952 and is preceded in her death. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his son Mario Ramirez; brother Walter Ramirez and sister Yolanda Capps. He is survived by his sons: Arturo Ramirez, Jr. and wife (Maria), Alfredo Ramirez and wife (Sylvia), daughter Cynthia A. Ramirez and (Belen Velasco), daughter-in-law Maria "Lucha" Ramirez-Bridges; brothers: Margarito Ramirez and wife (Grace), Armando “Tiny” Ramirez and wife (Guadalupe), Graciano Ramirez and wife (Cecilia), Jose “Charro” Ramirez and wife (Bertha), Ramiro “Milo” Ramirez; sisters: Maria Sanchez and husband (Castulo), Gloria Villarreal and husband (Beto), Dora Linda Ramirez; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Arturo was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid listener who helped enrich our lives with understanding. Arturo was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a Knight of St. Gregory, co-founder of Catholic Credit Union, and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. The Ramirez family would like to thank Dr. Manuel Santiago with Clear Spring Cancer Center; Methodist Hospital and their staff on the 7th floor ICU and 8th floor oncology. Pallbearers are Alfredo Ramirez, Jr., Mario Ramirez, Jr., Arturo Ramirez, Esteban Ramirez, Xavier Ramirez, Abraham Hernandez, Ross Robbins and Richard Sanchez. Visitation will be on Monday, 6-9:00P.M, October 27, 2014 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary vigil at 7:00P.M. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, 11:00A.M, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church followed with interment at Sacred Heart cemetery. Funeral arrangements with G. W.
