Danny L. Thompson Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Danny Thompson Sr., age 68, passed away on January 1, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1952, in Andrews, Tx to F.N. and Betty Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Francis Jr. and Jimmy Thompson. He graduated from Robstown High School in 1970. Danny spent the majority of his career as owner and operator of Thompson Tire Center first in Robstown and then in Del Rio, where he met his wife of 25 years, Mrs. Alma Thompson. He enjoyed fishing Lake Amistad and hunting in his free time and had many tales to share with friends and customers. He enjoyed his furry friends who were always by his side or waiting for him at the door when he got home. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and loved watching them grow and sharing stories with them. Danny is survived by his loving wife, Alma Estella Thompson, son Danny Thompson Jr, daughter D'ann Moore. Grandsons, Clint Taylor, Justin Moore, Dylan Thompson (Abby) and Caden Thompson (Allie). Great-grandson Jesse Taylor, Uncle Ray Sutton and Aunt Lou, cousins Sharla Scott and Connie Betcher with husband Tommy and Janet and Steve Williams. His furry kids Buckie and Missy. Also with a special place always in his heart, Jennifer Billings Thompson. Visitation will be Wednesday 1/06/21 5-9pm at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home. Service will be Thursday 1/07/21 at 10am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Thompson, Caden Thompson, Neal Billings, Curtis Stock, Braden Ballard and Scott Nebel. Funeral arrangements are under care and direction of G.W.
