Dovie Mae Ellen Godfrey

April 13, 1929 - October 15, 2016

Dovie Mae Ellen Godfrey, 87, passed away October 15, 2016 at home in Fort Clark, Brackettville, Texas. She was born April 13, 1929 in San Marcos, Texas. She is survived by her daughters: Sheryl Denise Stoner and Janice Ellen Ash both of Brackettville, Texas; sons: Curtis Randall Stoner (Lori) and Steve D. Stoner (Linda) all of Brackettville, Texas; sisters: Shirley Stephenson and Jane Young; one brother: Jack Stephenson; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A poem she enjoyed was:” I’m There Inside Your Heart: Right now I’m in a different place, And though we seem apart, I’m closer than I ever was….I’m there inside your heart. I’m with you when you greet each day and while the sun shines bright, I’m there to share the sunsets, too… I’m with you every night. I’m with you when the times are good, to share a laugh or two, and if a tear should start to fall….I’ll still be there for you. And when that day arrives that we no longer are apart, I’ll smile and hold you close to me….Forever in my heart.” A celebration of life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, 11:00A.M, October 29, 2016 at First United Methodist church at 105 James Street, Brackettville, Texas. Funeral arrangements with G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home, of Del Rio LTD, 114 Fletcher Drive, Del Rio, Texas. 78840 Ph: 830.775.2000
