George T. Parry
June 9, 1947 - June 18, 2016
George Parry's journey through life ended suddenly and unexpectedly June 18, 2016 in Del Rio, Texas. He was born on June 9, 1947, eleven minutes after his identical twin brother. He graduated from Maury High School in 1965, after being instrumental in Maury's wining of the Eastern District Tennis Championship, which was decided by the districts only twin doubles team. As a combat Air Crewman, George flew Market Time patrols in Viet Nam aboard P3 Orion Aircraft In Patrol Squadron 46. While flying out of Adak Alaska on winter deployment he received an Admiral's congratulatory letter for detecting a Russian submarine using only his ears. Graduating from Long Beach State University with a B.S. Degree in business, George became a Virginia State certified Audiologist because he wanted to do something in his life to help people rather than enrich himself through business. When his father's wife passed, George left Virginia to go to Del Rio, Texas, to care for his Father, a combat infantry veteran from the Battle of The Bulge, who suffers from PTSD and is treated by the VA. George’s life was all about caring and loving others, and now he resides in Heaven. A Memorial chapel service will be celebrated on Thursday, 2:00P.M, June 23, 2016 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home chapel with Reverend John Cary officiating. Interment will follow to Sunset Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Del Rio, Texas. Funeral arrangements with G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home, of Del Rio LTD, 114 Fletcher Drive, Del Rio, Texas. 78840 Ph: 830.775.2000
