William Nelson (Pete) Billings, 98, entered eternal rest on June 13, 2016 at his home in Del Rio, Texas. William Nelson (Pete) Billings was born in Langtry, Texas on June 29, 1917. Pete is survived by daughter: Gail McDonald and husband Bill of Del Rio, Texas; son: Warren Billings and wife Ann of Palm Coast, Florida; daughter: Linda Billings of Del Rio, Texas and son: Aaron Billings of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Grandchildren: Hunter McDonald and wife Tonya of Boca Raton, Florida, Scott McDonald of Ingleside, Texas, Dr. Adrian Billings and wife Susan of Alpine, Texas and Stacy Billings of Astoria, New York and 7 Great-grandchildren. He graduated from Sanderson High School in Sanderson, Texas in 1935. Pete was married to Dorothy Louise Shaw on June 25, 1938, at the schoolhouse in Langtry, Texas. Pete and Dorothy shared 63 wonderful years together until her death in May 2002. Pete worked as a locomotive fireman until his promotion to engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 36 years. He enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting and was actively involved in the Langtry Baptist Church. Pete was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Louise Shaw Billings in 2002, his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Pallbearers will be Adrian Billings, Hunter McDonald, Scott McDonald, Keith Bowden, Neal Billings, Jr, and Fred Slover. Honorary pallbearers will be the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific Railroad Employees. A reception will be held at the Chaparral Townhouse Clubhouse off Cantu Road after the burial. In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Val Verde Regional Medical Center, 801 Bedell Avenue, Del Rio, Texas and Resource Health Services, Inc, 901 Bedell Avenue, Ste G, Del Rio, Texas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 5-9:00P.M, June 16, 2016 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home. A Chapel service will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00A.M, June 17, 2016 at same Chapel with Kevin Phillips presiding. Interment will follow to the Masonic Cemetery. Funeral arrangements with G. W.
